Diane Aslanis, DO, FACOOG

Dr. Diane Aslanis grew up all over the world. She received a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Montclair State University in New Jersey, and a Doctor of Osteopathy from the School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, New Jersey. Here, Dr. Aslanis discovered that working with women's health and teenagers was her passion, so she chose to specialize in Obstetrics/Gynecology.

For residency, she chose Christ Hospital in Jersey City, New Jersey, and an OB/Gyn residency at St. John's Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockway, New York. Dr. Aslanis served in the Air Force in Alaska and Iraq. In addition, she was an assistant professor at University of Connecticut (UCONN) St. Francis Hospital Residency Program. Her first college degree was a Bachelor of Arts in Theater, and she worked as an actress for a few years.

Aslanis came to Virginia from Connecticut for a better quality of life, more space and friendly people. She and her husband both have family in Virginia and North Carolina, and are delighted to be closer to them.

Her hobbies include watercolor painting, sculpting figurines, ballroom dancing, reading, and playing video games (to enhance her robotic and laparoscopic skills) with her husband, who is a science teacher. Dr. Aslanis says, "I believe it's important to have a well rounded life, otherwise it's difficult to understand and empathize with my patients."
